Italy overcame visiting Moldova with a 2-0 win yesterday, Monday, in the fourth round of Group Nine matches during the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Raspadori and Cambiaso were responsible for Italy’s goals, scoring in the 40th and 50th minutes respectively.
Despite Italy’s numerous attempts throughout the match (28), they managed only seven shots on target, the same number as Moldova.
This marks Italy’s first victory in two matches, elevating their tally to three points, placing them third in the group. Moldova, conversely, remains without a point following their third consecutive defeat.
