Khalid Shakshak, the head of the Libyan Audit Bureau, met with the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Guven Begec, on Tuesday to discuss the current status of joint projects being carried out by Turkish companies in Libya.
Shakshak emphasised the necessity for these projects to undergo rigorous review by the Libyan Audit Bureau, aiming to enhance transparency and safeguard public funds, while also ensuring that companies receive their entitlements.
Both sides underscored the paramount importance of the Libyan Audit Bureau’s independence in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities, in strict accordance with prevailing legislation.
On the sidelines of the meeting, discussions touched upon the cooperation agreement signed between the Libyan Audit Bureau and the Turkish Court of Accounts in 2020. The parties also explored avenues for activating and strengthening this agreement, particularly in the areas of expertise exchange, technical visits, and specialised training programmes.
