Abdullah al-Lafi, Member of the Presidential Council, met with Gianluca Albrini, Italy’s ambassador to Libya, and discussed the latest developments in the Libyan political landscape.
Al-Lafi reaffirmed the Presidential Council’s commitment to supporting the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and to constructive cooperation with the recommendations of its advisory committee. He noted that creating favourable conditions for elections represents a paramount national priority and a vital path for the country to achieve lasting peace and sustainable stability.
For his part, the Italian ambassador affirmed his country’s support for the Presidential Council’s endeavours to consolidate calm and extend security, particularly through the military committee formed under Resolution No. (2). Albrini commended the Council’s diligence in managing the current phase with wisdom and responsibility, ensuring the preservation of the political process.
