The National Oil Corporation (NOC) on Monday released figures detailing the consumption levels of crude oil and natural gas in the domestic market over the past week.
Data from the corporation revealed that 7.62 billion cubic feet of natural gas were consumed last week. Of this total, cement plants accounted for 245 million cubic feet, while the iron and steel complex consumed 590 million cubic feet. The General Electricity Company recorded the largest share of consumption, at 6.6bn cubic feet.
Recent information from the NOC also indicated that 108,816 barrels of crude oil were supplied to the Ubari power plant, primarily to ensure the stability of the national electricity grid.
