Efforts by aid convoys aiming to break the siege on the Gaza Strip continue, despite the significant challenges they face.
The Maghreb Convoy has announced the initiation of preparations to launch a naval fleet aimed at breaking the blockade on Gaza. They’ve urged Maghreb nations to support this initiative, which forms part of a broader international effort.
A statement from the Joint Action Coordination for Palestine in Tunisia emphasised the critical need to confront the ongoing genocidal war and the suffocating 18-year-long siege imposed on the Strip. It called for a widespread popular state of emergency to facilitate active participation in the anticipated flotilla.
Meanwhile, the Freedom Flotilla Alliance is pressing ahead with its preparations to launch a new vessel named “Hanzala” on July 13 from the Italian port of Syracuse. This mission seeks to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza amidst the continuing genocidal war against the Strip.
According to its organisers, “Hanzala” aims to draw global attention to the escalating humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, exacerbated by the siege and ongoing genocide since October 2023. The ship will carry a symbolic shipment of humanitarian aid, alongside a powerful message of solidarity with the Palestinian people, particularly the children who constitute over half of Gaza’s population.
