On the sidelines of the ninth seminar organised by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and hosted in Vienna on July 9 and 10, the acting oil and gas minister in the Government of National Unity, Khalifa Abdelsadeg, held discussions with Nigeria’s minister of state for petroleum resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, concerning mechanisms for cooperation in the energy sector.
According to a statement from the ministry issued today, Saturday, the two sides discussed the proposed gas pipeline project aiming to connect Nigeria and Libya, along with opportunities for exporting natural gas to European markets. Discussions also covered the proposed implementation plan, taking into account the available capacities of the countries participating in the gas transmission project.
Abdelsadeg and Lokpobiri agreed to arrange a visit by a high-level delegation representing Nigeria’s energy sector to Libya. This visit aims to explore avenues for cooperation and foster joint investment opportunities between the two countries in the energy domain.
