This focused operation resulted in the apprehension of 18 migrants of various nationalities, including eight from Pakistan, four from Egypt, four from Sudan, and two from Bangladesh.
Forces managed to arrest a Libyan individual, identified by the initials “A. R. M. S.”, suspected of involvement in organising these sheltering operations and facilitating the transportation of the migrants.
Ayad Al-Sadiq, Director of the Security Media Office at the Directorate, clarified that this operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat irregular migration and pursue all those involved. He noted that necessary legal procedures have been taken against the apprehended individuals, and the case has been referred to the competent judicial authorities.
The Sirte Security Directorate affirmed in its statement its continued pursuit of anyone who undermines community security or exploits migrants for illicit purposes. It stressed its commitment to maintaining raids and surveillance campaigns to apprehend offenders and completely eradicate the phenomenon of human trafficking.
