Tunisia’s tennis star Ons Jabeur announced on Thursday that she is taking a temporary break from the sport. The decision follows a challenging period marked by recurring injuries and a dip in performance.
In a statement, Jabeur said:
“Recently, with the succession of injuries, I haven’t been feeling comfortable or happy. Tennis is a beautiful sport, but at this point, I feel it’s time to step back.”
This move comes as Jabeur navigates a physically unstable phase, having suffered a series of injuries that have impacted her participation and results this season. Her struggles have raised concerns about her ability to maintain the level of play that propelled her to become one of the world’s top female tennis players.
