Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) and Algeria’s state-owned Sonatrach have signed four memoranda of understanding aimed at expanding cooperation across key sectors of the oil and gas industry. The agreements, announced Friday, cover geophysics, well drilling, petroleum research, and workforce development.
One of the accords links Algeria’s National Geophysics Company with Libya’s North Africa Geophysical Exploration Company, forming part of a joint strategic plan to enhance energy operations in both countries.
Another memorandum focuses on training and knowledge exchange between Sonatrach and the NOC, while a third agreement seeks to improve field operations and boost production through collaboration between Sonatrach’s National Well Services Company and Libya’s Al-Jouf Oil Technology Company.
The fourth deal centers on joint research initiatives between Sonatrach’s laboratory division and Libya’s Petroleum Research Center, paving the way for shared scientific projects.
In a statement posted to its official Facebook page, the NOC said the agreements will strengthen the strategic partnership between Libya and Algeria in the energy sector.
