The Libyan national school swimming team held an intensive training session on Sunday in the Algerian city of Sétif, ahead of the opening of the inaugural African School Games. The swimming competitions are set to begin Monday morning.
Representing Libya are three young swimmers: Mohannad Khaled Al-Mufti (50m butterfly and 100m backstroke), Jihad Sharalala (50m butterfly), and Youssef Jalal Al-Waleed (200m backstroke), under the guidance of national coach Ali Salem Al-Mufti.
The day also saw the technical meeting for the event, where coaches and team officials finalized race schedules and organizational details.
Libya hopes to make a strong impression in this first edition of the continental school championship, hosted by Algeria and featuring broad participation from across Africa..
