Libya’s national school basketball team (3×3 format) kicked off its participation in the inaugural African School Games in Algeria with a default victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo, whose team failed to appear for the scheduled match on Sunday morning.
Later in the evening, the Libyan squad is set to face Gambia in its second group-stage match. The team roster includes players Amin Ibrahim Al-Karmaji, Jawhar Al-Muqrahi, Hamza Al-Ghadban, and Mazen Al-Ghrabli, under the leadership of national coach Osama Al-Balghoush and team administrator Miftah Adam Al-Tarqi.
The tournament, hosted in Algeria, aims to foster youth athleticism across the continent and spotlight emerging talent in various sports disciplines. Libya’s delegation hopes to make a strong impression in this first edition of the continental school championship.
