Sahara Bank Assistant General Manager and Others Detained

The Public Prosecution has ordered the detention of the Assistant General Manager for Financial Affairs at Sahary Bank, along with officials from the Accounting and Auditing departments, and the Assistant Head of Accounting for Budgetary Affairs.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that the individuals were investigated based on evidence of irregularities in the bank’s financial statements of 2023. Investigations revealed the bank had recorded false profits when preparing its financial position statement and had paid taxes on them.
The inquiry uncovered that previous losses had been concealed, resulting in a loss to the bank of 15,073,623 dinars
