GNU’s Ministry of Interior has stepped up efforts to safeguard foreign diplomatic missions in the capital, holding a high-level meeting on Tuesday to assess coordination and security measures.
Major General Hassan Al-Sharif, Director of the General Directorate for Diplomatic Protection, convened the session at the department’s headquarters in Tripoli. The meeting brought together senior officers and the security representative of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
Discussions focused on strengthening joint coordination and refining operational procedures to ensure the safety of diplomatic compounds and personnel. The ministry reiterated its commitment to maintaining a secure environment for foreign missions operating in Tripoli, framing the initiative as part of broader efforts to restore confidence and stability in the capital.
