Egypt has strongly condemned recent media remarks from Israeli media promoting the concept of a “Greater Israel,” calling for official clarification and warning of the destabilizing implications such rhetoric carries for the region. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Egypt described the notion as a rejection of peace and a deliberate escalation that contradicts the aspirations of regional and international actors committed to stability and coexistence.
The ministry reiterated Egypt’s unwavering commitment to establishing peace in the Middle East, emphasizing that the only viable path forward lies in resuming negotiations and ending the war on Gaza. The statement reaffirmed Egypt’s support for the two-state solution, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state, in accordance with international resolutions.
In a related development, the Arab League also issued a strong condemnation of Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements, which reportedly included proposals to annex parts of sovereign Arab territories as part of a vision for a “Greater Israel.” The League’s General Secretariat described the remarks as a grave threat to collective Arab national security and a blatant violation of international law and legitimacy.
The statement warned that such expansionist rhetoric reflects an extremist, colonial mindset and constitutes an unacceptable infringement on the sovereignty of Arab states. It urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to take decisive action against these destabilizing declarations, which risk inflaming regional tensions and deepening hostility toward the Israeli occupation.
The Kingdom of Arabia joined the chorus of condemnation, with its Foreign Ministry denouncing Netanyahu’s comments in the strongest terms. In a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Kingdom rejected all settlement and expansionist projects promoted by the Israeli government, reaffirming the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to establish an independent state.
Riyadh also warned of the broader consequences of Israel’s continued violations, stressing that such actions undermine international legitimacy, encroach on the sovereignty of neighboring states, and pose a serious threat to regional and global peace
