Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Tuesday a new oil discovery in the Ghadames Basin, executed by Algeria’s state-owned energy firm Sonatrach.
The find, located in concession A-65/2, is expected to add up to 4,200 barrels per day to Libya’s national output, according to NOC’s statement.
In parallel, the Libyan National Drilling Company has begun relocating Rig No. 11 to a new site to commence integrated drilling operations in partnership with both domestic and international firms.
NOC also praised the drilling company’s recent overhaul and reactivation of rigs 13, 12, and 33, citing the move as a key step toward boosting operational capacity and maintaining equipment readiness.
