In a wide-ranging meeting held at the House of Representatives in Benghazi, Speaker Aguila Saleh met with Central Bank Governor Nagy Issa and his deputy Marai Al-Barassi, joined by First Deputy Speaker Fawzi Al-Nuwairi and Second Deputy Misbah Douma.
The talks focused on advancing economic reforms and refining Libya’s monetary policy. Governor Issa pledged to resolve the liquidity crisis by October 1st, emphasizing a structured approach to activating and upgrading electronic payment systems.
The Central Bank presented a series of proposals aimed at easing operational bottlenecks, which were met with parliamentary support as part of broader efforts to overcome economic challenges.
Concluding the meeting, the Speaker and his deputies underscored the urgency of unifying national institutions and sustaining joint efforts to support reconstruction and development across Libya’s regions.
