A high-level security coordination meeting was convened at the Jafara Security Directorate, led by Major General Abdel Nasser Al-Taif, with the participation of municipal mayors from the region, heads of police departments and traffic units, and senior representatives from military and security branches operating within the area.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the Directorate, local municipalities, and various security agencies to ensure the protection of electoral facilities and maintain regional stability. Discussions centered on mechanisms for enhancing operational coordination, streamlining communication between institutions, and addressing logistical and security challenges that could hinder the electoral process.
Participants emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration and proactive planning to secure polling stations and safeguard the integrity of upcoming municipal elections. They also underscored the need for unified efforts to overcome obstacles facing security operations, particularly in light of heightened public expectations and the critical role of local governance in Libya’s transitional phase.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of collective commitment to maintaining public order and supporting the democratic process. Officials praised the initiative as a model for inter-agency cooperation and pledged to continue joint efforts to ensure that elections proceed in a safe, organized, and transparent environment.
