Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, received Minister Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE’s Supreme Council for National Security, along with his accompanying delegation, at his office in the General Command headquarters in Benghazi.
During the meeting, Al Shamsi conveyed greetings from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reaffirming the UAE leadership’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
The two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest at both the local and international levels, with a focus on mechanisms to enhance cooperation between Libya and the UAE in the security and political spheres, reflecting the depth of their relationship and serving shared strategic interests.
