The Ministry of Interior in the Government of National Unity, in coordination with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, held a meeting in Tripoli to discuss procedures related to requests for weapons designated for training and security protection of UN personnel.
The meeting was chaired by Major General Mahmoud Saeed, Deputy Minister for Public Affairs, with the attendance of Major General Tarek Kaiba, Director of the Deputy Minister’s Office.
Participants included Mika Manninen, Field Security Coordinating Officer, and the unit’s security coordinator, alongside UN Security Advisor Saber Moghal.
The attendees emphasized that these arrangements aim to ensure the Mission’s compliance with legal and security regulations in force, thereby facilitating its operations and strengthening its capacity to carry out its mandate in Libya.
