General Khaled Haftar, Chief of Staff of the Libyan Armed Forces, met today with Jeremy Brent, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Libya, at his office in the General Command headquarters in Rajma.
The meeting focused on strengthening military and security cooperation between Libya and the United States, as well as exploring mechanisms to enhance joint coordination in support of efforts to unify Libya’s military institutions.
Both sides emphasized the importance of building strategic partnerships that contribute to regional stability and bolster the operational capacity of Libya’s armed forces in addressing security challenges.
During the meeting, the U.S. diplomat extended his congratulations to General Haftar on his recent appointment as Chief of Staff, wishing him success in fulfilling his new responsibilities.
