Al Ahly Tripoli is preparing to participate in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup in Singapore starting on 18 September, where the team will represent Libyan and African basketball at the global event. The draw has placed them in a difficult opening match against the European champions, Spain’s Unicaja Malaga.
To boost their chances, the club has bolstered its squad with the signing of Senegalese player Jean Jacques Boissy, who played a key role in Al Ahly’s victory in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) competition. The club has also enlisted the Egyptian coach Mohamed El Kerdani to lead the team, aiming to provide unique coaching expertise to the Libyan side at the global showcase.
Al Ahly Tripoli will compete in Group A, which includes, alongside them, European champions Unicaja Malaga and Asian champions Hiroshima Dragonflies of Japan.
