Jeremy Brent, the Chargé d’affaires at the US Embassy in Libya, has affirmed that the independence and integrity of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) are vital for the country’s economy and prosperity.
His statement came during a meeting in Tunis with Masoud Suleiman, the acting chairman of the corporation’s board of directors, during which they discussed ways the United States and American companies can support Libya’s energy sector.
In a post published by the US Embassy on the social media platform X, Brent noted that the objective is to help Libya achieve its goals of increasing oil production, stressing that the NOC is an essential technocratic institution.
