The “General Administration of Customs” began implementing new adjustments to the assessed values of customs duties on cars, trucks, and motorcycles on Monday. These changes are now in effect at all customs centres across the country.
The authority explained that this move aims to reform the tax system and increase state revenue, which in turn is intended to promote tax fairness and support the stability of the national economy.
The new adjustments include:
-Four-wheel-drive vehicles: 10% increase.
-Front-wheel-drive vehicles: 5% increase.
-Trucks and heavy machinery: 5% increase, based on the base price for each model.
-Motorcycles: 10% duty is now imposed, with a base price starting from 2,000 dinars for models older than 2022 and 6,000 dinars for newer models
