Libya’s Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Mabrouka Tougi, held a meeting with her Indonesian counterpart, Fadli Zon, on the sidelines of the 2025 Chandi Summit for Culture, Heritage, Arts, and Storytelling, held in Bali, Indonesia.
During the meeting, the Indonesian Minister emphasized the significance of Libya’s participation in the summit, describing it as a powerful symbol of shared commitment to cultural preservation and international cooperation. “On behalf of the Indonesian government, we express our gratitude for the Libyan delegation’s presence and active support of the Chandi 2025 Summit. We hope this participation deepens cultural ties between our countries. Culture is a unifying force and a tool for peace that the world needs now more than ever,” he said.
The two ministers explored various avenues for joint cultural initiatives, particularly in expanding knowledge exchange and collaboration in the fields of arts and heritage. They agreed to draft a comprehensive memorandum of understanding that would establish an institutional framework for sustainable cooperation in culture and the arts.
The Indonesian side also welcomed the opportunity to offer academic scholarships to Libyan students interested in specializing in arts, culture, and the creative economy through the “Darmasiswa” program, one of Asia’s leading cultural exchange initiatives.
