Abdelsalam Zoubi, Deputy Minister of Defense in Libya’s Government of National Unity, held a trilateral meeting in Rome on Thursday with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto and the head of Italy’s intelligence service to explore ways of strengthening military and security cooperation between the two countries.
The discussions focused on enhancing the capabilities of Libya’s Ministry of Defense, supporting security coordination efforts, and expanding collaboration in training and capacity-building for military personnel. The talks also addressed regional and Mediterranean security issues, along with other matters of mutual interest, reflecting both sides’ commitment to deepening their strategic partnership.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation to serve shared interests, support regional stability, and reinforce the depth of military and security cooperation between Libya and Italy.
