Libya reached an agreement with Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and officials from NNPC to revive the gas pipeline project linking Nigeria to Europe via Libya. The plan includes exchanging technical data and conducting detailed feasibility studies in preparation for signing a memorandum of understanding.
The agreement came as part of a series of high-level meetings held by Acting Minister of Oil and Gas Khalifa Abdel-Sadeq on the sidelines of the Gastech 2025 conference in Milan, involving officials from the United States, Turkey, and Nigeria.
In his meeting with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, discussions focused on investment prospects and boosting production capacity. Talks with Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar addressed exploration programs, field rehabilitation, and the role of Turkish companies in infrastructure projects.
Abdel-Sadeq affirmed Libya’s commitment to creating an attractive investment climate and building international partnerships to support the stability and growth of the oil and gas sector.
