In a significant step towards climate resilience, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has approved Libya’s National Drought Management Strategy, along with its accompanying action plan. The initiative was developed in partnership with the National Committee to Combat Desertification, led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, and supported by the European Union.
The strategy outlines a comprehensive roadmap for managing drought in a country where desert terrain covers 95% of the land and climate change continues to intensify environmental pressures.
