Libya’s Presidential Council President Mohamed Al‑Menfi held bilateral talks on Tuesday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Turkish mission headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

President Erdoğan commended Al‑Menfi’s efforts to stabilize the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and his supervision of security committees aimed at preventing renewed conflict. He reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to Libya’s unity and the consolidation of its institutions.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and developing strategic relations that serve mutual interests and promote stability and development in Libya and the wider region.
Continued Coordination and Shared Priorities
Al‑Menfi expressed appreciation for Turkey’s role in supporting Libyan stability and for Erdoğan’s positions on regional and international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.
Both leaders agreed to maintain ongoing consultation and joint efforts to support Libya’s political, economic, and security tracks in a way that safeguards national sovereignty and serves the country’s interests.
