Belkacem Haftar, Director General of the Libyan Reconstruction and Development Fund, led a field inspection today of several high-impact development projects in Benghazi, underscoring the government’s commitment to strategic urban renewal and public service expansion.
Joined by Project Management Director Hatem Al‑Areibi and a team of engineers, Haftar received detailed updates on execution rates and technical benchmarks. He emphasized the importance of adhering to approved timelines and engineering standards to ensure that all projects meet public needs and align with national development objectives.
Transport and Healthcare Projects Underway
The inspection covered major infrastructure works, including the expansion of Hawari Road and the construction of the Hawari Bridge—both designed to improve traffic flow and regional connectivity. Haftar also visited two major hospital projects: a 490-bed Pediatric Surgery and Medicine Hospital and a 200-bed Women’s and Maternity Hospital, both central to Benghazi’s healthcare modernization efforts
