On the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, trilateral diplomatic discussions between the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates addressed key regional issues, with Libya among the central topics.
In two separate meetings, U.S. Presidential Advisor for Africa and the Middle East, Masad Boulos, met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and UAE Minister of State Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan.
During his meeting with the Saudi minister, Boulos discussed the latest political and security developments in Libya, as well as peace efforts in Sudan. In a post on X, he noted that the talks focused on supporting political unity in Libya, affirming that global peace remains a top priority for the U.S. President.
In what he described as a productive meeting, Boulos also conferred with the Emirati minister on regional files, notably efforts to stabilize Libya and promote peace in Sudan. The two sides also explored ways to deepen U.S.–UAE cooperation in support of regional security and prosperity
